This weekend is very special! No, it’s not because it’s Coachella Weekend 2… it’s Earth Day! This Saturday, April 22nd, we will be celebrating the planet and everything that we love about it. To get you into the spirit, we’ve come up with a few easy ways you can join in on the fun.
1) Take a bike ride
Have you been wanting to try that new ice cream spot in town? Instead of getting into your car, take a bike ride, or even a walk, there instead! You’ll not only help reduce greenhouse gas emissions, but you’ll also get to enjoy the fresh air and change of scenery. Plus, you’ll feel less guilty about having ice cream if you’ve worked out to get there! You earned it!
2) Reuse your shopping bag
If you love food as much as we do (which you obviously do) you’re always at the grocery store picking up some more snacks or items for dinner. Instead of using the plastic or paper bags at the register, bring your own cute reusable bags! These can be store-bought or custom made. Not only will you be saving by not having to pay for plastic or paper bags during your purchase, but you’ll also get to walk away with a cute bag full of goodies.
3) Plant a pot of flowers
It’s spring season so nurserys at Lowe’s, Home Depot, and other hardware stores are blooming with dozens of beautiful flowers. Stop by and pick up a single container for a few dollars and plant it in your yard or in a pot. If you take care of it well, it’ll bloom more than twice its size next year and will keep growing over the year. It’ll make your home more beautiful and will be a gift to the Earth that keeps giving back.
4) Bring your own go-to mug to the coffee shop
If you stop by the coffee shop every morning, why not bring your own go-to mug or tumbler? You’ll be helping the planet by not using a paper or plastic cup that will eventually end up in the trash. Some places, such as Starbucks, will even give you a discount for bringing your cup. Plus, coffee always tastes better from a cute mug.
5) Buy a re-usable water bottle
Plastic water bottles are not only a waste of money but they are also really bad for our environment! Buying a re-usable water bottle will not only help save the planet (and some of your money) but you’ll also get so many compliments on your cute and trendy water bottle! You can shop all our water bottles here.
Remember that this Earth is the only home we have. Every thing that we do, big or little, does make a difference.
