This week we want to give a shoutout to all of the amazing women and men out fighting for their lives. October is breast cancer awareness month and as such we wanted to give our readers not only products that you can purchase in support of breast cancer awareness, but also events you can go to to further support the cause.
According to the American Cancer Society more than 249,000 individuals get diagnosed with invasive breast cancer every single year. As a response hundreds of companies each year come together to release limited edition products with the goal of donating a portion of the proceeds to various breast cancer organizations. Items vary from makeup to clothing to food so there is not shortage of items to purchase. With so many options to choose from the real difficulty will be narrowing down what to get!
If you’re a makeup lover, be sure to browse through your favorite makeup websites, as multiple products are popping up everywhere in honor of breast cancer awareness month. One of our favorite products, the cult classic Beauty Blender, is releasing a limited pale pink edition of their famous product and donating 50% of the proceeds to the Look Good Feel Better Foundation!
If you’re in need of a new on-the-go fragrance, Tory Burch will also be featuring their Love Relentlessly Rollerball which retails at their online website at $30. Tory Burch has promised to donate 20% of the proceeds, up to $25,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation! At your convenience you can find this perfect purse-size addition perfume at your local Sephora, Bloomingdales, Macy’s or Nordstrom.
For all of those who are local to the Los Angeles area and want to participate in the cause, Making Strides of L.A. is hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness event on October 21st at the Los Angeles Convention Center. This year the event is different, you won’t be expecting the traditional 5k walk, instead you’ll be inside and getting active! The event begins at 9:30 AM and will include a variety of fitness forms such as pilates, zumba, yoga, dance, and fitness bootcamps. You can register online or in person, the event details can be found in the link below:
This wraps up our ways to contribute for Breast Cancer Awareness in our month of October. These were just a few of the many ways that you or your friends can participate in the cause! Be sure to comment down below some other ideas you’d like to share, we all can make a difference! 🙂
Wishing you all the best,
The FAB team
